Okay travelers! So today Evita Robinson, founder of the Nomadness Travel Tribe, hosted a live Twitter chat and filled us all in on what has been going on with the Tribe and the burning question we’ve all been desperately seeking the answer to: “How do we JOIN?!?

Evita, or Evie as she goes by, was kind and gracious, fielding questions that were coming in at a rate comparable to a White House press conference!

So here’s the low down:

On a recent trip to Panama, many members were injured in a car accident. Two beautiful people lost their lives in a tragic bus accident. Many more members were injured. In what I’ve come to see is true Nomadness Travel Tribe fashion, the members rallied to raise money for the families of the deceased and the injured. In just a few days over $30,000 was raised to help with funeral costs and the costly medical treatments of those that were injured. Social awareness and solidarity could be seen on almost every social network, and it was then that if you didn’t know already, you learned just how massive, yet tightly woven, the tribe is. There was beauty in their solidarity, despite the tragedy of the recent events. Continue to keep the families in prayer. From what I’ve been told most are on the road to recovery, but one young woman is still in a coma. Send your prayers and positive thoughts her way please! Read Evie’s post here.

As I mentioned previously, Evie also discussed membership. There were lots of questions, and if you’d like to follow the entire conversation, you should be able to search the hashtag on Twitter. (#NMDN).

Here’s the abbreviated version of the I-Wanna-Be-Down guide:

1) Have at least one stamp in your passport
2) Know (or FIND) someone in the Tribe to recommend you.
*Don’t be shy. Reach out to Evie or a High Council Member or that person you saw with the Nomadness logo on their FB picture!*
3) Get the Newbie Bootcamp Password from the person who recommends you.
4) Complete Bootcamp (you’ll know what to do once you have a recommendation)
5) Wait to be added to the group. AND BE PATIENT! (And excited!! I am!)

As you can imagine with the recent events, the process has been delayed a bit, as Evie explained to us in the chat. In addition, the tribe’s official group home is exclusively within their Facebook group and they are transitioning out of that, which adds to the delay as they work to make the process smoother for new members.

SO. Get excited. Get ready. Do your homework too. Evie stressed that while Nomadness is not elitest, as many might try to label the group, it does have requirements. Also, if you want to join, know why. Know what it is that appeals to you about the group. (This should apply to anything you do in life guys and gals!)

Well, I will keep you all abreast of my progress. ‘Tis all for now.
